Last week's class award went to Aidan for his excellent work in Numeracy and his perspective art, particularly how he added the telegraph poles towards a vanishing point!
This week's Star of the Week was Leah P, who was described by Miss Witherspoon in America as a 'dream pen pal' for her emails back and forth across the Atlantic Ocean.
Last week's Star of the Week was Nathan, who has been working really hard in Numeracy! Well done you two!
Cailen and Curtis both achieved more than 20000 points on Mathletics, whilst Lara won the class design for Nick Sharratt's pants (see the previous post). Brilliant effort!
In addition, most of the class got their first Bronze certificate in Mathletics! Well done - keep practising everyone!
Internet Safety, lots of tests (not always fun, but we can see the progress we're making!), emails to America and that Netball competition!
Our star of the week this week was Kristen, who wrote a great email to our classpals and always gets on with her activities!
Meanwhile, in other news, our blog now has had 33,000 visitors from 96 countries (see the bottom of the page). I wonder if we can get to 100 different countries by the end of the year? Where will they be from? Success card for children who can work out which countries haven't been on our blog yet and find something out about that country!
Everyone did so much good work last week: interesting narrative texts, lots of fractions, decimals and percentages and our swag bags are coming together.
This week's Stars of the Week were: Kaine whose narrative text was fantastic and Lucy who has worked so hard on editing for her spelling and punctuation.
This week's Star of the Week was Logan for using her LTTs in her Science book.
She used an embedded clause with 'which' in her work on how light travels. Have you been using your LTTs (Long Term Targets) in lessons apart from Literacy? We will find out when the results of the latest writing assessment come in! Fingers crossed.....
We are Year 6 at Tanfield Lea Community Primary School, a primary school in County Durham who want to broaden our horizons and to show the world what we have to offer. We are using this blog to explore web design, write creatively and as a wider audience for the class' talents!
We are very keen for links with other schools, both in the UK and internationally. Please contact us via the comments boxes!
Our topic for the Autumn term is the Normans, looking at the architecture, sources and impact of the Norman Conquest of Britain.
